Bruce Nesmith, a former Bethesda designer who worked on games like Skyrim, emphasized that Starfield 2 has the potential to be an outstanding game. According to Nesmith, the development team will learn from past mistakes and improve upon the first game’s elements, making the sequel even better. Here are the details…
A Statement That Raised Expectations for Starfield 2
In an interview with VideoGamer, Nesmith mentioned that Bethesda could address existing issues with Starfield 2 while surprising fans with new features: “*I’m eagerly looking forward to *Starfield 2. I believe it’s going to be a fantastic game because it will fix many things that people described as ‘almost there’ or ‘slightly lacking.’ Bethesda will be able to resolve most of these issues by adding new elements to what’s already there.“
Nesmith, who worked as the lead designer on Skyrim, highlighted the importance of using lessons learned from Oblivion to make Skyrim a better game: “All we had to do was keep improving and adding new things.“
According to Todd Howard, Bethesda is proud of Starfield, and the game is expected to continue with at least one major expansion pack after the release of Shattered Space. While the game satisfied many, some players critiqued it for lacking ground vehicles at launch.
Bethesda has not yet confirmed the existence of Starfield 2. The former developer follows the logic that sequels tend to learn from the first game’s mistakes and improve over time. However, it remains uncertain if the game will indeed materialize in the future.
